Who am I?

My name is Mindy Noble, I am a mum of three and have raised my children in Hampshire. I have been qualified as a professional Breastfeeding Counsellor for 17 years offering specialised support to local parents and bring a huge wealth of experience to the role.

I am available for private home visits within a 50 mile radius, and online video calls bookable at your convenience. I am happy to work flexibly to suit your needs.

What can a Breastfeeding Counsellor offer?

Using evidence based support, I can help you reach your feeding goals. I will work with you to improve latch and positioning so feeding is pain free or as close to that as can be achieved. I can help identify issues such as tongue tie and refer you for an assessment with the local NHS infant feeding specialist if needed. I can help you understand many of the baby behaviours that worry parents, and increase your knowledge and understanding, so you can make the best decisions for your family hour by hour and day by day, with growing confidence.

Many parents seek support from a Breastfeeding Counsellor after early difficulties - it is common - almost usual - for women to be seeking support when they are mixed feeding breastmilk and formula milk as well as expressing. I can help you make changes to the pattern and frequency of feeding your baby, to help you reach your own particular goals with feeding whatever they may be. Some women are happy with a mix, others are keen to return to full breastfeeding - I will check in with you to understand what's right for your family and how I can best help.

Training & Experience

My two year professional qualification as a Breastfeeding Counsellor is a Level 6 Diploma of Higher Education from Bedford University (equivalent to year one and two of a degree). I qualified 17 years ago, and have supported literally thousands of parents across Hampshire and beyond.

I facilitate antenatal breastfeeding classes with NCT and deliver free grant funded community breastfeeding support in Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover with NCT. I am a founding member of Hampshire BFCs - under this community organisation I have worked on NHS Hospital contracts giving bedside support to mothers on the postnatal wards in Winchester and Basingstoke, so have extensive experience working with mothers and babies in their first 48 hours. During COVID lockdowns all our breastfeeding support moved to video so I have over a thousand hours of experience working with parents in this way.

Other Experience

For 16 years I led the Maternity Voices Partnership for Hampshire Hospitals, working with the senior midwifery team to develop and improve the maternity service, I have an in depth knowledge of the birthing experience and the impact of the early days. Having ended that role in late 2024, I now have more time to devote to developing a private practise offering one to one support for local families.

I am qualified as a Peer Supporter trainer and have trained over 100 local mothers to be Breastfeeding Peer Supporters.

I work with colleagues across the UK to lobby government locally and nationally through Better Breastfeeding to raise the profile and value of breastfeeding and get better support for parents.
